1. Why do we too often assume when God does not immediately answer our prayers that He has not heard our prayers? Can His silence be an answer?

2. In John 15:18 and 1 John 3:13, Jesus clearly taught that this world hates Him and we ought not be surprised that it hates us too. Is it possible to please a corrupt world at war with God and a holy God at the same time?

3. Psalm 28:8-9 ends with the reminder that God is our saving defense (fortress) and a caring shepherd who carries His sheep forever. Why do you think He ended this lament Psalm this way?
