Jonathan Rainey is the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Seattle Director ministering on the University of Washington and Seattle Pacific University where he serves the spiritual need for the athletic teams and is responsible for establishing FCA on the university campuses in the greater Seattle area.
Jonathan is also the full-time chaplain of the FCA baseball leagues in the Seattle area. He was born in Tupelo, Ms and he attended Morehouse College where he majored in Pre-Med and Accounting with a minor in French. He also played football for Morehouse where he was a three year starter and the defensive back of the year his Junior season. It was during this time that his passion for God and serving people grew. He no longer pursued a career in medicine or business but one in serving God by ministering to athletes. He has worked with FCA with Georgia Tech and Ole Miss before coming to Seattle, and has recently completed his Masters of Biblical Counseling and Masters of Divinity through Luther Rice University in Atlanta, Ga. His greatest accomplishment is his relationship with God and finding his wife, Cynthia Sim Rainey. Jonathan has a passion for God and athletes.
